5.28.0

Release notes for 5.28.0.

Released: 2026-09-27

Features

• Search now indexes up to 3000 characters per page instead of 300, making longer pages searchable beyond their opening paragraphs. Set searchMaxBodyLength to a positive integer to adjust the limit; result snippets retain their existing display length. (332a6184b)

Bug Fixes

• Heading extraction for the table of contents and link checks ignores heading-like text inside multiline JSX expressions, comments, quoted attributes, and template-literal props, while preserving headings in JSX children. Multiline inline-code spans no longer confuse JSX detection. (b85fe3469, 99ad4252b)

• Escape closes the mobile drawer's Appearance menu and returns focus to its trigger; a second Escape closes the drawer and focuses the hamburger button. (66359d27c)

Other Changes

• Raise the zfb, zfb-runtime, and zfb-md-wasm peer floors to ^2.21.1, bringing single-Preact-runtime SSR fixes, collection include-filter handling, faster startup, and workspace-package staging and reload fixes. No configuration migration is required. (6686f2da6, e82e57551)
